Georgia, Tbilisi, and Georgian audiences have already appeared on the world map of "Chicago."

The musical is based on the 1926 play of the same name by Maureen Dallas Watkins, which, in turn, reflects real events that took place at the time. Watkins was a journalist in the crime department of the Chicago Tribune, who used stories from the crime chronicle as a plot. The prototypes of the main characters were real people - female murderers from Chicago - Belva Gartner and Beulah Annan.
