August 11 – Tropicos in Batumi – Dam Swindle, one of the most popular house music duos from Amsterdam, will perform.
Since breaking onto the scene in 2011, the Amsterdam duo of Lars Dales and Martensmits — collectively known as Dam Swindle — have gained international recognition for their expansive vision of club music. Rooted in house music but nourished by disco, techno, soul and global grooves, their sound has steadily evolved — from early dancefloor classics like “The Wrap Around” to the 2024 summer festival hit “Allright – just a tribute.” This versatility reaches its peak on their album Open, which spans the musical spectrum from ambient electronica to synthwave, with collaborations with such renowned artists as pianist Joep Beving and vocalist Haile Supreme. Featuring in-demand remixers like Pat Thomas and Kerri Chandler, the duo also supports the underground scene through their own label, Heist Recordings. Founded in 2013 and curated by artist Bas Koopmans, the label functions as a creative incubator and a close-knit family. It is best known for its unique annual “Roundup EP” and the contributions of heavyweight artists like DJ Sneak and Matthew Herbert. Whether in the studio or at the DJ booth, Dam Swindle's identity as record collectors is clearly felt in their dynamic DJ sets - they flawlessly blend soulful techno, acid, breaks and disco, creating the inimitable charm that has made their name a true mark of authority and innovation in the world of dance music.
