Michael D'Alphonse

The most popular place in Batumi for meetings, strolls, and new acquaintances is the work of a man whose name many people don't know – Mikheil D'Alphonse. His ideas and love for plants became the basis for the creation and further development of Batumi Boulevard.

Few people know that D'Alphonse brought seeds of various evergreen plants from France specifically for this project, which he grew in his own yard and later used as the basis for the landscaping of the boulevard.

As the chief decorator and project manager, he transformed the Batumi seaside into a true work of art in a very short time. That is why a bronze statue was erected on the boulevard in memory of him.

The monument is located Near the colonnades, and the empty chair at the table invites everyone to sit down and take a photo to pay tribute to this great gardener-decorator.
