Gardener-decorator Jason Gordezian played a special role in the development and landscaping of Batumi Boulevard.
Under his leadership, large-scale landscaping works were carried out on the boulevard, existing nurseries were expanded and new gardens were planted. After his successful work, he continued his studies abroad to further his education. In 1911, he graduated with honors from the National Agricultural Institute of Versailles and spent the following years working in leading horticultural farms in France, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands. In addition, he also worked at the Royal Botanic Gardens in London, where he held the position of gardener-decorator.
Equipped with the knowledge and experience gained in Europe, Jason Gordezian returned to his homeland and implemented a number of important gardening projects.
To commemorate his contribution, a monument to him was erected on Batumi Boulevard in 2012, which looks out over the beauty of the garden with a satisfied eye.
